Ra Ma Da Sa is one of the most healing mantras in Kundalini Yoga.

It comes from the yogic tradition and is often called the Siri Gaitri Mantra a sound current for deep physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Meaning:
Ra = the sun, source of energy
Ma = the moon, reflective and nurturing
Da = the Earth, grounding and sustaining
Sa = Infinity, the cosmos, universal spirit

When repeated together, the mantra bridges heaven and earth aligning us with universal healing energy.

How to Pronounce:
Rah Mah Dah Sah
(then: Say So Hung)
which means “I am Thou” or “I am Infinite.”

Why It’s Powerful:

This mantra is known as a vibrational medicine. It balances the elements within us and connects us to both the vastness above and the grounding force below. Practitioners use it to send healing to themselves and others it’s like a sound prayer for wholeness.

When I first stepped into yoga, I thought being a yogi meant bending like a pretzel, wearing robes, or living on a mountain. As a DJ and creative, I didn’t “fit the look.”

But when I found Kundalini yoga and meditation, I realised the real practice isn’t about the mat at all it’s about the mind.

Born in the Punjab region he was known for his deep spirituality from a young age and had a series of profound spiritual experiences that shaped his teachings and mission. His teachings were radical for his time and emphasised equality, compassion, and the realisation of the Divine presence in all.

Nanak’s central message, encapsulated in the phrase Ik Onkar, meaning “One Universal Creator,” underscores the foundational Sikh belief in the oneness of all existence. This phrase is found at the very beginning of the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, and it signifies that there is one universal, formless God who is the source of all creation.

The Importance of Ik Onkar and the Oneness Factor
Unity of Humanity: Guru Nanak emphasised that all people, regardless of caste, religion, or gender, are interconnected and unified under the same Divine presence. By recognising this oneness, humanity could transcend social and religious divisions, promoting a spirit of equality and unity.

Returning home is always a journey of the heart. Recently, I found myself back from not just a home away from home, but a sanctuary where I was embraced by an extraordinary community—a circle of souls united by love, kindness, and the shared purpose of uplifting one another. 🙏

It had been a while since I last donned my white turban, embraced the simplicity of a humble diet, and immersed myself in deep spiritual practices that cleansed my mind, body, and soul. In this sacred space, I confronted my own traumas, dramas, and excuses, finding healing through profound meditation.

Reintegrating into the everyday world after such a transformative experience can be challenging. It’s natural to question why we can’t live in that sacred state all the time. But life outside the retreat comes with its own set of demands—earning a living, navigating relationships, and facing the inevitable stresses of daily life. This retreat, however, reinforced for me the importance of why I do what I do, why I teach what I teach, and why spirituality doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be woven into the fabric of our daily routines with ease and grace.
