Day 7: Identity
Congratulations on making it to the very last challenge!
I hope yesterday's challenge really impacted you and made you more determined to guard your thoughts and live in the moment. Now that you’ve started to strip away the false you, let’s explore ways of letting your truth shine.
We have another simple yet powerful exercise to experiment with today.
It’s said that defining who we are already limits us. In our natural state, we’re already the best versions of ourselves. We don’t need to go out and do all of this personal development to try to become somebody—we simply need to peel back the layers to reveal the masterpieces we already are.
It’s about accepting, forgiving, and forgetting the good and bad experiences or aspects of ourselves so that we can move on. So throughout the day today, I want you to focus on simply being as present as possible. Let go of the need to be anyone other than the person you already are and see yourself as the best version of you.we
When we compare who we are right now with who we were, we doom ourselves to perpetuate that version of ourselves and let the past repeat itself. The absolute fastest way to make a real change in our lives is to forget who we were and focus deeply on who we’re being in this very moment.
Sometimes to do this right, we have to forgive ourselves first. So as a bonus challenge today, I want you to write down three things you feel you need to let go and forgive. Whether it was something you did to someone else or something someone else did to you, write it down on a piece of paper and burn it. Or you can just toss it in your recycling bin. :)
To keep yourself accountable, set reminders in your phone that go off every few hours that trigger you to remain present and practice this challenge.
Be sure to check your email to submit your response to today's challenge. Thanks again for going on this journey with me. I hope you’ve come to the realization that you are already the best version of yourself. You just have to breathe, relax, and let your true light shine.
